About
Greetings!
You may know me from, well, nowhere probably! Unless it's from my old handle, in which case please pretend any embarrassing anecdotes you recall didn't happen, thanks.
I'm a NEET and a weeb who spends most of his time watching anime, playing video games, and watching movies. So I should know a lot about those things, huh? Well not really, but I do know what I like! Hopefully it's interesting to read my opinions on these subjects though.
I got started on games in about 1997 with Final Fantasy VII, which informs my taste to this day. I got started on anime in, well, whenever the Buu Arc in DBZ was airing on US TV. Originally I didn't like anime, but when some kids at school were talking about DBZ being awesome, I eventually checked it out. One of if not the only times something like that's happened. The rest is history.
For movies, I just kinda watched movies here and there like most people throughout my life. I think it was around 2012 or 2013 that I really started watching a lot of movies, when I started using some uh, alternative methods of watching them if you catch my drift, which opened me up to a ton of things. For a time I was watching movie after movie and sometimes I still have weeks where I just watch one a day, but mostly I've slowed down. I've still seen quite a few though. I believe Fight Club was the first movie I watched when I was really starting to take interest in film, and it's a big part of what made me get into it and wanna see tons more movies. Still a great film.
All this is kinda pointless to hear because I barely post anything on this blog! The point is though that this is where my interests lie. I've seen some Tokusatsu, I've built a couple plastic models, I read manga sometimes and have read some regular books, but mostly I just like anime, videogames, and film! So, that's probably what these posts will be about!
Here, I post reviews, game of the years, thoughts and opinions about things, all that sort of stuff. Typically focused on criticism, but not necessarily. For example, I have a post all about the different shit you can do in debug mode in Undertale.
Speaking of criticism, I can be very critical, and I likely will be. I'm much better at explaining why I don't like something than why I do, I just grew up in that era of the harsh, angry critic and that inevitably rubbed off, that's just kinda how we did things. I try to be fair but it might come off like I'm being too hard on something and don't like it, when in reality I do. So keep that in mind, I guess. It's just fun and cathartic to bitch, we all know that.
Hopefully, it'll be a bit entertaining for you!
